Gregory Friess, D. O., is a native of Arlington, Texas, where he attended Arlington High School. His undergraduate education
was from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science
Center in Fort Worth and completed internal medicine training at the D. D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
He completed his fellowship in medical oncology at Brook Army Medical Center (BAMC), San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Friess is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Friess served as chief of the outpatient hematology/oncology clinics at BAMC, where students elected him the most outstanding
teacher. Dr. Friess was an assistant professor of oncology at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine prior to beginning private
practice and still serves on the medical school teaching faculty. For several consecutive years, Dr. Friess was honored as the
outstanding medical school teacher. Dr. Friess was honored for his many publications by election to fellowship status in the
American College of Physicians.
In 1994, Dr. Friess co-founded The Center and in February 1999 was elected chief of the medical staff at Osteopathic Medical
Center of Texas in Fort Worth.
Dr. Friess enjoys writing and has published poetry in several medical journals. He is married to the former Jane Crews of Arlington.
The couple has three daughters.
