Travis Thompson, M. D., grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Southwest High School in 1991, where he was a National Merit
Scholar. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from its College of Natural Sciences,
graduating with Honors. In 1995, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Travis moved to Galveston for medical school, graduating from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999. He completed his
internship at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester, New York. He pursued residency training in radiation oncology at The
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his training in 2004, having served as Chief Resident of the department
during his final two years at Johns Hopkins.
Travis chose to return to his hometown to begin his clinical practice, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
In his free time, Dr. Thompson enjoys snow skiing, record collecting, and spending time with his wife and best friend, Shelley.
He is naturally a loyal follower of the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and Longhorn teams.
